Teaser for Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie is astonishingly good

With a little blend of Alice in Wonderland and a smidgen of Avatar, you’ve got the eye candy for 2014. Maleficent directed by Robert Stromberg, is Disneys  promising look into the real story behind the beloved Sleeping Beauty novel, but unlike the novel, this one tells the story from the villains point of view. This trailer looks good, so one would hope that the hype surrounding it’s release is warranted…we’ll just have to wait and see.

“A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal — an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom — and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.”

The film also stars Angelina Jolie, Elle FanningSharlto CopleySam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple, and Lesley ManvilleMaleficent opens in theaters on May 30, 2014.

Jurassic World is coming in 2015

I guess I should report on this since, everyone else is. I lost the fire for this franchise years ago, in fact everything after Spielberg’s Jurassic Park is a fucking blur to me. But on June 12, 2015 Universal “says” they are releasing the fourth installment…has it really been three films already? Fourth installment to the Jurassic Park Quadfecta (that’s not related to any Michael Crichton novel whatsoever) and it’ll be called Jurassic World.

Can you taste the sarcasm? Mmmmmmmmmm!

According to the films release date comes after Disney pushed back the release of the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film “Dead Man Tell No Tales” ( a title that  should’ve been used for the first damn film…duh). Btw, the two are not related at all, but the date is important considering the slew of films being released that year.

The film currently has that release date all to itself, though Assassin’s Creed and Pixar’s Inside Out are scheduled for release the following weekend.

Director Colin Trevorrow is credited with penning the screenplay alongside Derek Connolly, which appears to suggest that his rewrites to Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver’s draft were significant.

2015 is going to be quite a fucking year for films if these proposed releases do indeed take place. Also slated that year (supposedly) are Avatar 2, Star Wars Episode VII, Man of Steel sequel [Superman-Batman], Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Adventures of Tintin 2, Independence Day sequel,Terminator sequel, Ant-Man, Warcraft and Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Pt. 2 !

Yeah…I know right?
